Cyclists put newspapers under their jerseys on mountain descents to create a temporary, rudimentary wind barrier, trapping a pocket of warm air to protect their chest and core from the bone-chilling winds and prevent a sudden drop in body temperature after the exertion of climbing. This effective, classic technique is still used today.

This ASSOS windproof and waterproof ultrasoft barrier shields on descents but will pack away into a jersey pocket when the road arrives back at sea level. Quick and easy-on, easy-off, super compact to carry on a ride.
